A lot of people all around the world are very fond of pets. Indeed, it is impossible to imagine our everyday life without them. Most of us have a little friend at home: a dog, a cat, a hamster, a rat, a parrot, fish etc. Every pet-fancier chooses domestic animal subconsciously according to his or her inward life and what is more, such animals usually resemble people even outwardly. Mostly, people buy pets in order to relieve loneliness, to have them instead of children and have a good companion at the same time, to have someone else at home they can share their love with. It is a common fact that a pet has a favorable impact on children, too. That is why a lot of caring parents think about presenting their child a small puppy or kitten. The child learns to take care about animals from little up and gets lessons in empathy and responsibility. This forms the kid's attitude to everything around. Children with pets at home learn better at school; have better physical and mental abilities. Pets are of even greater importance to elderly people and those who have lost relatives. Such people suffer from stresses less than those who have had similar accidents but do not have a pet at home. Simply the view of a pet most often arouses tender emotions and creates the feeling of happiness and joy in you, especially if it's a baby animal, isn't it? The emotions that we feel are able overcome loneliness and even depression. We can say that pets improve our life. As a rule domestic animals are considered as members of human families. Pets express their feelings and love like people do, they talk to people and it can be easily forgotten that they are just animals. That is why, when your favorite hamster or puppy dies, you feel like you lose a part of yourself and take it hard. Sometimes people who decide to adopt a small animal do not realize what problems it may cause. Not everyone knows exactly how to feed, treat and take care about pets, and what conditions are most favorable for them. In some cases people are just unable to cope with them – not having enough time, money, space for them they just leave them outdoors, not understanding what harm they can do not only to the animal itself but also to the society. The problem of outcast animals is becoming more and more serious. There is a great amount of organizations around the world that deal with unwanted pets' protection.
